It's not. I was merely pointing out to the poster that at the time of the merger, UAL financial performance outpaced CAL's. Thus his continued rantings of what a crappy dying airline UAL don't pass the smell test.

The ranting by both sides is pretty childish. No employee wanted a merger, SLI is most likely going to an arbitration and when the results are released one or more sub groups will sue.

This "dying airline" brings 76 jets to the top payscale v CAL's 44 jets(even with the pay banding scheme insisted on by your MEC), and 35 jets v 26 jets to the next highest payscale. We'll have to wait and see how the SLI turns out. Will CAL pilots be able to bid on the 50 firm widebody jets ordered by rUAL before the merger? (25 787s, 25 A350s) answer....YES. So you'll have to excuse us if we are anxious to bid onto the CAL ordered 737s that are now flying out of our home domiciles.

Apples to oranges. You can't compare bidding on aircraft that might be here before the end of this decade to ones that will be here fall of 2013.

You have every right to fly those 150 737's that were ordered last year IMO. Anything before that is simply an attempt to grab CA seats that were never yours.

What would have been great is, if we had taken the time to ensure that the new contract gave the opportunity UAL pilots to bid those aircraft once they were slated to start arriving on property. As it stands now, CAL mgmt can continue to see that CAL pilots fly the above mentioned aircraft until and probably past the completed SLI.

Kinda like the parking aircraft conspiracy.

End of this decade? The deliveries start in 2016. That's 3 years from now. Ask sUAL management about cancelling firm orders (see Airbus 320 penaltie$)

Oh yeah. That's what we needed. More time. rUAL's much anticipated narrowbody order never materialized. Instead we got a merger announcement with an airline that already had new narrowbodies coming. So after 2 years, your solution is MORE TIME? big surprise. No Thanks. I am glad we voted in the contract. Clock is ticking. Just a matter of months now. get ready.
