Default UAL Fleet Plan

UAL Fleet Plan

It appears the company is waiting for the SLI before it parks the bulk of 757s.

Did I read that right that UAL will lose 10 aircraft and UAX gains 11?

Correct. It also appears that the last 767-200 will be gone by April leaving 35 300s and 16 400s.

I think its because of the Q400s or is it something with the PNCL 900s?

Perhaps it has something to do with the Lithium Liner? Nah. Its a game changer.

They're going to be in a bind when they park the busses next year and have to train all those guys to fly RJs.

When do they have to start shrinking the 50 seaters?

I would guess some 767-200's stay around as lithium-fire standby aircraft. It sounds like the grounded game-changers are going to be grounded for a long time. Perhaps a year or more. Unless they can find a single cause and repair, they are probably going to have to design/build/test/certify/implement a complete new battery system.

I think it might be good to own empty land in Everett, WA. You can rent storage space for undeliverable 787's there. If you look at google earth for Paine Field, it looks like they need more space. Boeing is scheduled to build 60-100 more 787's this year.

The 787 will not be down that long. Boeing will get it back in the air within the next 30 days. Bet on it.

7 737-500 gone this year
15 757-200 gone this year

? (Not sure how many) 737-900ER will be delivered as replacement.

Should be a wash.
