So how does the recall process work Let me see if I understand this correctly.. and follow with a few questions:

-Company submits a recall notice
-L-UAL pilots either bypass or accept recall
-In order of seniority the pilots are placed in classes

Questions:

1. How long does this take to get started? Oct or Nov?
2. How would a bypass pilot obtain a class prior to 2018?

Thanks

At both divisions the unfilled vacancies have consistently been EWR/JFK and IAH. There is no reason to expect that to change with the ISL.
I am guessing all but a few die hard holdouts who just refused to work on the CAL side all have better gigs right now and may never come back. The three I personally know will not be coming back...ever. But why show your hand until you have to.

If it plays out like it did at DAL/NWA then they will hold out until they have to come back or resign. We will know within a week or two, but I believe the numbers I heard was out of all the guys furloughed at DAL/NWA about 35 have resigned. The rest bypassed as long as they could and are now coming back.

1. Per the contract UA can't offer a recall with less than 30 days notice of class date

2. Make a single phone call or email requesting an available class date

Default Interview Sim Flight Director Question

Was just doing some research for an upcoming interview (hopefully, still waiting for the Hogan email, just want to be prepared) and noticed guys talking about the interview sim with no flight director. Is that still the case? The reason I ask is because I already click everything off, including the FD, a couple of times per trip for the practice but if the whole sim is without the FD I'll be doing it quite a bit more often for the extra practice. Thank you in advance for the information! Safe flying!

During the interview sim there is no FD, A/P, or A/T use permitted. They're physically there, you just can't use them.

This all depends on what aircraft you're flying. If you're flying anything bigger than a Saab, I'd recommend sim prep. Hand-flying through 10,000 and on approaches isn't enough to prepare you for this interview. Hope this helps...

FWIW I didn't do the sim Prep and it was not very difficult at all, depends on your background and confidence level handling a different aircraft.
