The corporations are what they are -- cold, unfeeling entities that only care about making a return on capital invested. The last generation of sr managers have extracted the remaining vestiges of humanity from otherwise heartless corporations in a disgusting display of greed and ego. So the only entity we can count on to have humanity and a conscience is our collective selves -- our unions. This is exactly where so many have gone wrong -- attempting to profit at others expense while ignoring any semblance of honor, integrity, or fairness. Unfortunately that is exactly what your CAL ALPA leadership has done.
So no, I have no loyalty to UAL, CAL, or UCH. I will do NOTHING to help and I won't lose a second of sleep. IMO your leadership has painted your pilot group in the same light as the corporation. In all honesty I don't trust your leadership (and by extension your pilot group) any more than I trust ual/cal/UCH. And I'm the reasonable guy in the crowd.

No one deserves anything. You sound like one of those kids who was continually told you were special and deserves a medal for getting last place at your soccer game.
Sometimes, just sometimes, life's not fair.

Interesting .. had not looked closely at the furlough provisions of the the CBA and was instead relying on the procedures as delineated in prior contract. Will peruse the section and pass the info on to my buds that are back on active duty. Thanks for the correction
When it all is said and done, there is no difference to either provision in the new CBA.
In my case, voluntary furlough, bypassed for 18 months then decided to take a CAL job. Offered recall at UAL in Jan, bypassed and have 10 years from original furlough date to re-enter the recall pool.
That of course is moot once the ISL is done. Nevertheless, that it is what it is.
Pretty simple.
