Ya know just once I'd like to see someone from CAL and UAL on APC say that maybe just maybe this hasn't been such a bad deal after all . . .

nahh . . . never happen. That would be saying something positive on the internet and there's some law somewhere that forbids that at least it sure seems like it
The #1 pilot was a EWR777 CA and then bid to the 737 so he could be LAX based and not commute. He has since tried to bid back to the 777 or 787, but is unable due to a two year lock on 737 seat. He will also be 65 any day now! There are quite a few CA's on the 737 in LAX that came from the 767 and 777. Everybody makes choices!

To all UAL pilots, thank you for 9 hours behind the door. It was a long time coming.

LeeMat,
Did you go to the hearing?
Any observations that can't be learned from the transcript ?

Did not make it...tried to commute up from MIA on AA but all their flights to DCA were still backed up from their meltdown a few days ago. My understanding is that now that the SHOCK and AWE approach has been tamed, the SLI hearings have been more civil/boring.

Lets just hope this doesn't result in the company having less pilots in each category because reserve utilization is too low. I think there are contractual minimums on staffing.

I haven't been called, so I'm guessing the ADD PAY is from pilots picking up trips?

Depends on your Fleet, seat and base.

EWR 756 FO's on reserve are getting used~
I almost bid reserve next month but then thought better.
Got a line that will still have me working 18 days, but at least I will be able to swap/trade with pilots/and or open time.

Each his own.. there are times when being senior and on reserve is good.. but now (on the 756) is not one of them!

No, thank-YOU for giving me a New York base big enough to have a career from and allowing me to stop commuting from LGA to IAD and have lots of choices on what to fly out of EWR. Nothin' beats drivin' to work.

Of course I haven't bid back yet; 'cuz I didn't want to lose my summer vaca, but soon enough

What about us west coast guys? No new bases or flying here, just more pilots now coming in on top of us that couldn't hold these domiciles before.

Hey, you already have a monopoly on 747 flying, live in the best climate in the US, have beaches full of California Girls, and you want me to feel sorry for you
