I think you are right....unfortunately. When all our uniforms are the same, what will these same folks do? Ignore everyone? Doesn't take much to say hello, and it goes a LONG ways towards building "unity". JMHO of course, so I'll just continue saying hi to everyone.

Quite frosty in Chicago. Nothing blatant, but I can just feel a bad vibe when I walk in the CPO office, almost like "what are you doing here" kind of attitude.

After SLI it will get better. In the meantime don't get your feelings hurt. Need a cookie ?
I just think it's pretty sad when a pilot, regardless of who they fly for, doesn't have the common courtesy to say hello or acknowledge the other pilot. Last week in LAX, my FO and I were walking down a very narrow corridor and a UAL pilot was walking in the opposite direction. It was impossible for them to not see us as they had to move to the side as we passed...... I said "hello United Captain" as they passed. I stopped and turned around to see their reaction. They stopped, looked at me, and gave me a "go to hell" look. Wow....very "unifying" and professional. So, who is the enemy here? Hurt my feelings? Nope, just think it's a strange way of supporting each other since we ARE on the same team, believe it or not.

Invent something to wear on their uniform to separate them from everyone else.

A pin?
A ribbon?
A red clip?
A bracelet?

The only ones that need ID'd are scabs. Tattoo "SCAB" on their foreheads, that way we all know.

Totally agree and it will never me being the one that doesn't say hello. Happened to me in EWR today exactly as you described but wearing black. I actually feel a little sorry for people like that. On the other hand all that vitriol will catch up to his medical and I move up a number

Yup a pin goes a long way with us Blue folks. Just like certain things are your culture the PIN is huge for ours.

I wasn't talking about a union pin. That's a given. It's part of the uniform. Same at both airlines. Too bad scabs wear them too.
