Similar core and accessories? Yes.

Totally interchangeable? No.

The two basic versions of the GEnx have a different diameter fan (the 747-8 is the smaller one) and the 747-8, unlike the 787, still needs "old style" bleed air.

Besides, we've been told time and again on this very forum that no sCAL pilot has any interest in flying a jumbo. Your secret is safe with us.

Mine normally involve a chick...to each his own, dude.

Baby chickens? That's weird.

Yes and every sUAL pilot talks about how great the widebodies are but are so mad at all the upgrades on the small minnow on the sCAL side. Who cares you don't even want to be on the small minnow?

All I have to do is look at CAL System Bid 14-02 to see what folks, in general, want to fly. ;)

The guppies are for the pilots that either choose to fly it or it's all their juniority can hold.

I forgot what flying a Guppy was like. My back hurts again, my ears are ringing, and I just bruised my ankle on the engine nacelle on my last preflight. The only good thing I can think of is that I get to look my marshaller straight in the eye, at the same level.

Even worse, UCH now is taking huge deliveries of "New" Guppies(NG). 5 years from now, when everyone else is taking delivery of NEO's and MAX's, UCH will be flying a fleet of fairly new old generation airplanes, trying to compete with "real" new airplanes using a lot less gas. And we will be flying them for the next 20 years. Not good.

Dude, it is referred to as "KICK THE TIRES" not the engine!:D
Walk Around Captain's criteria:
1. First Officer has to be very pretty and the outside Temp >70.
2.?
3.?

Not good at all. Too bad for our careers that management at Alaska, American, Delta, and Southwest all saw the 737 NG and MAX as a POS. Pretty soon we will be the only ones flying them.
