Default Profit Sharing Violation

Grievance Committee Update

On Tuesday, the UAL-MEC received a decision in the liability phase of the Transition and Process Agreement Section 4-A dispute (Profit Sharing).

As part of his award, Neutral Richard Bloch wrote:

The Transition Agreement was negotiated in contemplation of a potentially challenging and markedly sensitive process involving the melding and reordering of thousands of professional lives.

AWARD The Company violated the TPA by entering into the Profit Sharing Agreement in question.

As requested by ALPA, Neutral Bloch has ordered that the issue be remanded back to the parties for consideration of remedy.

Additionally, the CBA Section 3-L violation SBA was also heard by Neutral Bloch. We expect the CBA 3-L Profit Sharing decision later this summer.

It's been a bad day for the CAL MEC.

Not to worry. Looks like another tranch holdback for LCAL out of the post-SLI lump sum award.

LUAL pilots are likely to get a tidy--and unexpected sum--due to LCAL pilots getting profit sharing outside the scope of the TPA. The company was foolish enough to award it to LCAL pilots, now they may have to match that amount to the LUAL pilots.

The broad brush blames all LCAL pilots for Jay Pierce's profit sharing deal so I presume it will now also show appreciation for found money. No?

You're just scratching the surface of the foolishness displayed by all parties involved in that deal. I still not sure why you're insinuating that we should thank you for any recompense. I'm just glad that we were eventually able to extract SOME leverage from the companies desire to include the LCAL pilots in 2011 PS....I only wish your leadership had the sense to extract something from the company in a manner that created unity and trust instead of the destructive path they chose. We could've achieved the victory together.

I sure hope the UAL MEC uses some of this leverage to remove LOA25.
