Maybe make bases type specific. Who knows.

The LCAL 752's will not go away for years, they're too busy flying to Europe...They are the best option to fly to all the secondary markets, cities where even a 763 is too big. I bet they'll be around long after the bulk of 763's are replaced by 787's....

I don't know if I can be proud of that considering we are moving to a two airlpane airline. From a passenger standpoint it's supposed to be fun to fly and we've changed that. With the Guppy being over-stretched to the point of being uncomfortable and the SPARKIES having a tendency to set itself on fire, I see why people are looking to spend their money at Delta and American.

Outstanding logic Staller, esp given the fact that AMR has both stretch Guppy and Sparky on order and DAL is about to recieve their first Super Guppy.

I'm still trying to figure out the "Two Airplane Airline"?!
Let's see..
A320 Family of Aircraft
737 Family
757 Fleet
767 Fleet
777 Fleet
787 Fleet
A350 Fleet
and wait for it...

747 "Jumbo" Fleet

Yeah lets stay in the stone age Tester... Kind of like your thought process. So lets not order new airplanes. Maybe your the cause of people wanting to fly other airlines? Think deep about why I say that about you... I guess if you had your way Tilton would still be here....Looks like someone is very uncomfortable with progress and or change...

If you think the merger with CAL is progress, you are sadly mistaken. The stretched 737 and the SPARKY are not progress. The premium passengers we are losing to Delta and American are due to the reductions of classes of cabins. Something your side brought to the game. I don't remember but CAL wasn't ever in the top 5 airlines of anything and that includes being progressive.

Do your homework.... There are several European cities where the 752's are the only ride to the Newark/New York markets unless you want to connect through LHR/FRA...or where two 752's daily give the customer a choice of when to travel compared to a single 763.
The only two markets that didn't work were Bristol to Ewr and Cologne to Ewr.We dropped CPH to use the metal to fly out of IAD to Europe.Guess the idea was to increase profit per airframe .....
A bigger concern should be the start of point to point across the pond by LCC's like Norwegian , they are starting service from CPH/OSL/ARN to both JFK and FLL using crews rostered through a crew leasing company in Bangkok...
