Thank you Mr. Katz!

It was a fait accompli once the merger policy was changed. There was no foundation for an argument. No more "no windfall" so UAL reserve 320 FOs become captains. "Longevity" gave status to furloughs. As I said, brilliant to change merger policy 5 years ago.

I read the decision tonight. Part of me suspects that ALPA national got involved with the arbitrators in terms of influencing things to the extent that the chance of decertification was minimized.
That said?
It's done. Who cares? I had zero input and power. My NC picked the absolute wrong strategy, which I find....hilarious. All these folks seriously intoning how "We have Brucia!"
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Too funny.
I am very gald the arbitrators attempted to produce a list that they considered fair. They should be thanked for their hard work. As a pilot who was one system bid away from the left seat, I guess I should jump up and down and whine and moan.
But to do so surrenders control of the one card I have to play.
MY ATTITUDE.
I get to choose how I react. Not ALPA, not the arbitrators, ME.
And I still love my job very much. I cannot wait to get to fly new airplanes with new friends and new bases. I cannot wait to move forward as one united pilot group. And I eagerly dream of us building our own non-ALPA union - together - that protects OUR interests as United Airlines pilots.
And I really can't wait to kick Delta's ass.
So, to recap? Quit your gloating. Quit your britching. Put on your big boy pants and let's get to work!

Still trying to understand the fences and conditions. As a furloughee, this one is really bothersome. Oh well, I don't have to come back until 2018.
7. Until the first bid period 5 years following the implementation of the ISL,premerger UAL pilots involuntarily furloughed as of Oct 1, 2010 shall be subject to furlough (in their reverse seniority order) prior to the furlough of any premerger CAL pilot.
