Ha ha ha.... Thanks for bringing that up! I was based there in 97/98 and when I first saw the video I tipped over! :D

tk, didn't UAL ALREADY have pay banding pre-merger? Man that must of sucked to swallow that knowing the merger was coming.

Umm... Pre merger UAL had 3 paybands...we now have 4....not a big difference...

767-400 paying the same as 747? Not prior to the merger.

757 and guppy payrates the same? Not prior to the merger.

Of course the side that demanded those and then tried (unsuccessfully) to have them affect SLI sure thought they were a GREAT idea.

Lets see, who had those 767-400s and guppies that they wanted to make seem like they were bigger aircraft than they really were?

I'm surprised during SLI that the CAL MC didn't hold a big magnifying glass up to those airplanes so that the arbitrators could see how big they really were.

According to a sept 18 chief pilot update the next vacancy bulletin as it is now called in the UPA will be sept 23rd.
The standing bid screen in ccs should be back before that.

There are senior pilots on all airplanes that would rather stay where they are rather than bid a new seat to chase $$$. Making each pay band wider allows this and reduces training events, a win-win...

Sorry to correct you jumbo lord, but only The Super Guppy and 320 are in the pay band of the 757. The little dink guppy and the 319 are not. Wasn't too long ago that 320 guys were scrunched down at the Classic Guppy rate cause who cared about narrow bodies anyways? All around us pathetic narrowbody folks are better off with the current pay band system then the old UAL BK one. I'm truly sorry your status as a Jumbo driver no longer results in being paid a hardy premium at the expense of the 320 folks. It must be the guppy drivers fault!

A concession imposed during BK. The trend continues.

SpecialTracking;

Your memory is off a bit. NOTHING was imposed on us in BK. We voluntarily voted for all of it out of fear.

AA pilots voted NO to their 1113 threats, they are coming out of bankruptcy with a pay raise and 100k per pilot in equity.

AMR also entered BK with billions in cash, self-funded their BK, and will exit BK without the shareholders being wiped out. Meanwhile the other two global legacy airlines are profitable and have signed new pilot contracts compared to the era of massive industry-wide BKs and out of court restructurings.

A not so minor apples-to-oranges difference perhaps?
