Default Hired at UAL without College degree?

Not sure if this was posted...

Anyone hired at UAL with less than a college degree? If so, any aces, such as son of pilot, intern, pictures of Abbott? etc... TIA

I know of at least one guy who got hired with awesome flying credentials and no degree or inside connections back in the late 90's. It has happened, not sure if it will again but supply and demand are funny things.

As an aside, he got furloughed, landed on his feet and started a company that FAR exceeds any income UAL could provide. He won't be back.

I take it that you are not a hero Snarge. Nor a former military pilot. But you seem to have some issue with those that are, given your signature line. Understandable, as you were either unqualified, or chicken. What's your story?

I know several who had associates degrees and were hired. Several as in 2 or 3 guys. I personally know of no one who had no degree at all. You are putting yourself in a very very small area of probability of success without one. As in miniscule.

Probably not, don't aspire to be one... not sure what one is...

Nor a former military pilot.
Correct.

That was a dig at someone else...

That I never joined the MIC? Don't believe in it.... Being APC apologetically favors MIL, to the point where I get censored and banned, I'll leave it to Gen Smedley Butler....

I flew with one with no degree. He spent most of a multi-day trip complaining about why UAL didn't hire more pilots without degrees.

I politely countered that if UAL had 10K applications, and 98oo had degrees, who would you hire?

Copy all. Unqualified and cowardly. Just want to make sure we put the proper context on your signature line. Glad to help -- and thanks for removing all doubt.

So pilots who don't join the MIL are Unqualified and cowards now? I haven't read anything that Snarge posted that comes off anti military enough for you to get so butthurt over.

Of course not. Just the ones with a signature line like Snarge. Understand? Or are you hawking this thread because you are looking for an airline gig but don't have a college degree?
