I don't know what the bad day/worse day trade is, but in your scenario, you would need adequate reserve coverage to make that trade. Sooooo ummmm, no, you most likely won't get it. It's EXTREMELY RARE to get a multi day trip trade if you are trying to trade into a different day. It almost ALWAYS says "no coverage". If you tried to trade into another 3 day on 01/09 you would be able to regardless of coverage

I thought this new "trip trade" system was suppose to have greater capabilities than the previous LUAL trading system. If it is the old LUAL system it sucks.

Actually, the trip trade GUI is fine.

What is preventing the system from working is the company manipulating the parameters giving the illusion that we have a trip trade system.

Same as it has always been.

I have to say that this system has worked pretty well for me. I traded out of a trip that got in Christmas day for an earlier trip this month.

I'm a junior line holder, and although most of the time it does say 'no coverage', most months I've improved my schedule.

My advice is, since the program looks at all possible combinations to make a trade, put in all your wishes. The more people that use the system, the better it works.

What was wrong with old CAL trip trade from open time and bad for worst trade? Why we fix things that work good for majority?

You have unlocked the key to this merger as professed by those in charge of it and why it is dicked up.

That philosophy has been applied on a macro scale across this company.

It didn't work and was abused by a small group thus forcing this issue.

This. There were times when I got a pairing alert just before hitting "submit" in trip shopping to see the available trips and it never even came up in trip shopping because someone got it already. I know scheduling had to move something through open time occasionally to get it to where they wanted it, but it almost seemed like someone had written a program to trade their trips for them. I'm not even that senior, but I think I prefer this system (at least in theory) to what we had.

Well if it really is a seniority run-down until 1100 the day prior, how come someone got a trip (both of us reserves) who was junior to me for a 4-day trip that departs 48 hours out. We both were using Reserve Aggressive pick-up and exactly 48 hrs out the trade window opened for reserves and the junior guy got it. Any ideas? Should I grieve it?
