ha. I looked at the Nomex gloves. My several pair from many years ago are pretty much shredded from yard work.

Which leather did you choose from Pops? I got an MH one and it was way too heavy, stiff, and thick. Sent it back for refund. Wondering if a different leather would make a difference. Or maybe there's just a breakin time?

I have the calfskin leather from Pop's. Some places only have grainy calfskin and that type will have the rough grainy texture to it. My Pop's calfskin in smooth and did not require a break in like my M&H did. There is lambskin too, which is very smooth, but more susceptible to rips. I would stick with plan non-grainy calfskin.

To finish off the look you could get some really cool patches to Velcro on. Just don't forget to take them off in the pre mission brief prior to flying your mission over hostile territory.

Any hidden charges from pops? Customs/duty?

They were supposed to send me a $40 customs bill....never received it.

Only ever paid for the jacket

I bought a Pop's jacket in October. From my first login http://www.popsleather.com
until I had this perfect jacket, about 10 days.

Calfskin, United tulip in the inside back, a Velcro patch and two blank, two Legacy United embroidered wings. This coat is my winter flying coat, layover coat, and spring/fall motorcycle jacket.

I wish I'd not have waited so long, but I had to get over the idea of having Glenn Tilton's blessing, then pay for it with the 52/100ths of a paycheck he left me with.

That was funny :-) I always thought a scarf and googles too.

8th Air Force chic is very in right now. This bold look certainly does not say 'I'm a mustached airline pilot walking into at a layover bar who thinks he actually blends in.'

One time the F/O and I thought we had "blended in" with the crowd, but noticed that the waitress was looking warily at us.
Finally she asked: "Are you guys cops?"
