Clueless post.

It is about giving ANY SCAB or SCAB sympathizer their due.

It's not about whose SCABS are where. These just happened to be a LCAL crew.

The house was cleaned years ago. More like swept under the rug! The few remaining LUAL scabs slink around quietly and have zero influence within the union or management. OK, so you got rid of the roaches in the Master Bedroom! But, they are still in the house!!

From my brief exposure to the ex-CAL operation on the 737 I can't make the same observation. Just saying.
Not trying to defend this group, just trying to understand what is going to be done? In you "brief exposure" to the CAL ops, what type things have YOU done to help remedy this situation? (Please don't tell me that you have called them mean names!! ) And through your actions what have the results been?

I just want to be clear since I'm not sure what makes up their "DUE"? It sounds like you're the gate keeper on that!! I don't agree with what they did and the ones I've talked to know that! But, it might not have been up to your fierceness!

And since it was an LCAL crew I just thought I'd bring it up in the 757 thread!!

Hardly. Because of the return to work agreement, neither the company nor ALPA was permitted to take punitive action against those on the "other" side once the strike was over.

It didn't take long, however, for quite a few of the street scabs to quit and not too many years later there were none to be found the in positions mentioned above.

Line pilots, just like ALPA itself, do not hire or fire pilots but by working together the scabs were effectively neutered from influencing anything.

Really,

In your opinion, what should be done to remedy the issue with the scabs? I'm all ears.

ST, I'm not sure how to answer that question. It's two fold, what outcome should there be and what can be accomplished. You and I would agree what the outcome should be!! And that we wouldn't have anyone that crossed the line part of the group. But, in reality thats not going to happen! We've tried for 30yrs and both sides have them. I've said this in prior posts, I guess you can call me soft. While I won't make them feel at home and I'll let them know my beliefs and their Moral deficiencies, I have trouble making a daily battle with them and everyone they fly with.(and calling the non-scab FO out! It takes a lot of anger!) They will be retiring soon I just try to ignore them and enjoy the people I fly with and relate to. Much like the FO I just flew with!! A LUAL pilot no less!! Great guy! Very similar beliefs as me, so it made it nice!

I'm not sure you understand.

They're check airman, they're management, they're in the CPO, they fly all the senior aircraft on the senior trips, get weekends off and every holiday.

They don't care about you.

They don't care about me.

If you want to fly crappy low paying trips over the weekends, fine.

If you want weekends off, holidays off, high productivity to yield more days off - you'll be flying with a scap or a mafia member who grabbed the trip before anyone else could.

That's just life.

Whatever their past sins were, they'll pay for them in the afterlife.

For now, Satan is living up to his end of the deal and providing them with the life they wanted.

Do I like it - no.

But to bid around these guys costs me money and time away from my family.

You can be the pariah and sacrifice yourself on the fire of virgins.

I'll take the weekends off with my family and make the trips as pleasant as I can.

Really,

I get what you're saying I just don't know why you need to go on page after page bloviating about how you don't want any trouble with scabs.
