Does M5D not cover this scenario?

Silly? I don't think so, since if I had been operating the flight home I would have had the day off restored. So it comes down to where I was sitting in the airplane on my day off.

@ Packrat:
I would much rather have had a day off instead of the 1 hour add pay for losing my day off. Cencal are you willing to give up a day off for an hour pay?
It used to be that we had a choice of whether we wanted the day off restored or pay for it.

This was all promptly confirmed to me by the SSC. They say there will be a "Next Steps" article about it soon.

As I get older, getting time off with my family takes on greater importance, over $$. I wish that philosophy were shared by those who wrote these rules.

I agree 100%. I'd rather have a day off then 1 hour of ADD pay. Memories you can keep, money will fade and can be taken.

I know that GLOBAL line holders do not get a day off restored whereas GLOBAL reserves do. Check Section 5 for min days off and Section 20 for scheduling. It's really absurd, but it seems as though reserves get some better rules versus the lineholders, hence why I bid reserve.

Moral of the story, let's all keep track of these gotchas and remedy them in our next contract. (If we can work together).

Ummmm yes. And if he/I had turned a wheel on that last day that's exactly what would have happened. It's a creative interpretation of the contract that allows them to get away with the no day for DH.

Do we not get min day pay in this case?
4 day, min 5 hours per day = 20 hrs
Now 5 day, min 5 hours per day = 25 hrs?

I'd much rather have my day back FOR SURE... But at least 5 hrs is better than 1.5 for an hour DH.

Fair question. I was more concerned with the time off and I don't know where in the rules it would determine that.

The only days global guys have protected are the 6 holy days. Other than that if they can start a trip that goes into your days off they can. Last month had a 6 day block and worked 8. Followed by a 4 day block (since my rdo were moved. Was 6 origional). And worked 6. And there is no add pay either because they are moving your days off. Kinda sucks when you think you have days off at the end of 6 day block and they tack on 2 more.
Maybe the 777 is different but the 756 guys are being worked.
I also agree that any time lost needs to be restored as your families don't get that time back!

Yes it does. Plus the two add pays mentioned earlier.

Worth the exercise in work rule interpretation and page hunting, but my big concern is the time off. We get a fixed number of days in a week/month/year/life. Money can be made ( ask the Federal Reserve)

Lost Day Off - Lost forever

How far into the next day do we have to go to count? We are 8 hours behind schedule and land at 2:30 am in EWR on my day off.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 04:56 AM.
