What's all the angst here? You didn't trigger entitlement because you didn't turn a wheel. Sucky maybe, but sure appears legal. It's the contract your group agreed to.

But... don't let the fact that they're right and you're wrong bother you. Throw some sand in the gears anyway.

Angst? Asking a contract question is angst? Maybe you should try filtered crack for a while the straight stuff is starting to mess with your perception and judgement.

You might not value your days off, but I sure do. I expect to be compensated for my DH time. I'm not out there for free.

In this case, I disagree that we all voted for this provision. It was a shock to me that they don't count DH as a reassignment, but if we had ferried the airplane it would have been. It's creative contract interpretation by the company. It wouldn't have changed my vote, but this interpretation is smarmy. Oh, and it's been applied differently to different pilots according to ALPA. So it's clear as mud, even to the crew schedulers.

Btw, what is your job title and who do you work for? You clearly aren't a UAL pilot, but since you're lobbing your opinion in here I think it's fair to know what you're angle is.

I believe one of your brethren posted the pertinent sections of YOUR contract that covered this situation. Try to address it next time, but that other, less rabid, fellow made a cogent case that, disagreeable as it may be, your situation didn't qualify. Blame the messenger and "get even". That's the typical level of maturity here.

I am curious what you think my angle is. And, btw, it's "your", not "you're". Did you really graduate high school?

You again. One of my "favorite" posters on the forum. Former National, Pan Am, Delta, now retired. Is it too hot out on the golf course today?

Remember that discussion you jumped in on last year when one of the pilots mentioned the stress he is under caring for a special needs child that would require constant supervision for life? Your response was a so thoughtful --- "How is that anyone's problem but yours?" Some responses are hard to forget.

Kind of pathetic the way you are spending the sunset years of your life, don't you think? I can think of two former National pilots, one recently retired from UAL and the other about to, that would no doubt find you to be a complete embarrassment.

Again, you miss the point. Our management signs a contract and then continually tries to break it. They use creative interpretation combined with non-existent IT to blanket the grievance process so that issues take years to correct. That is what we are dealing with. So frustration abounds.

As far as the your/you're thing. I'm typing on a smart phone which finishes the word before I do. Do I waste time on this forum long enough to check my spelling? No. Btw, you might want to avoid run on sentences in a post where you are playing English professor. As far as how I did in school, you don't know me so I won't embarrass you.

Enjoy you're (sic) retirement

Really, who? I am curious.

I don't play golf. Golf is for sissies.
