Oh yeah they can be bumped but what I don't know is if they will count in the overall numbers. For example the bottom of the 76T fleet is filled with PIs in DEN but they are not line holders thats why the cat sum doesn't count them. So for 30 to be whacked off the bottom they will have to get rid of 50-60 total? I haven't been here for past big bumps so others will have to shed some light.

My prediction is that no one knows anything in upper management.

So this will go on for a little bit just to get the L-UAL pilots where they want to be. In 9 months the displacements will settle down and then we can all go on complaining about something else (myself included).

In order to curb displacements I suggest that we all buy our captains 50 chicken wings and a case of beer for every night on our overnights. You'll move up as they medical out...

They are listed with a base seniority # on the category summary, as well as counted in the vacancy bulletins (max/mins for category)

But, as you said, they don't fly the line so they are probably not counted in monthly staffing numbers, such as Gline.

I assume (possibly foolishly) that the company has accounted for bumping a certain amt of line and/or training pilots to fit their future block hours per cat and base?

What do you want to bet that our top notch managers have NOT taken this into account?

PIs (SUP) are not counted on the min max for a bid that is why when you look at the category summary they have the same number in base as the line pilot above them, and the percentage in base remains the same as well.

There will be plenty of volunteers from the top IMHO to eliminate the invol bumps. There is more than enough seniority in the 76T fleet in Den for all of those wanting seats in the upper half of the list to get where they want to be that the bump will go pretty senior.

I think this is what you're asking - example

10 displacements for 76T CAP out of DEN

The displacement are initially assigned to the bottom 10 pilots on the DEN 76T CAP list. Every pilot senior to these 10 can volunteer for the displacement. Let's say that 10 guys senior to them volunteer then the guys initially assigned the displacement stay in place(not displaced). If only 5 senior guys volunteer for the displacement then they and the bottom 5 on the initial displacement list will be displaced. The top 5 guys on the displacement list will stay in place.

Im asking about how the PIs fit into the displacement count. Are they reducing 30 pilots or 30 line pilots?

30 line pilots. Where PI (now called FIA) are staffed is only on paper. It has no bearing on displacements.
