Hoss:

Historically (I'm thinking the cascading bumps of 9-11 would be the closest comparison): One bump causes how many others?

I'm guessing 3:1 or 4:1.

From memory, that's probably in the ballpark.

I'm also gonna guess that we'll see far fewer cascading bumps this cycle as the airline is not simultaneously shrinking. Eventually bumped pilots will cascade onto on growing fleets (737 or 787) while significant retirements continue to draw from above.

Well my seat lock will be up before I can move west of the big river......Guess I'll just get comfortable in EWR and watch the mushroom cloud on the western horizon.

Sounds like 130 displacements in DEN in the first wave coming next week and that 73 Reserve at IAH ain't ending any time soon.

Any chance they waive seat locks to make needed movement happen?

Several 76T new hires were awarded 737 on the last bid that was posted today so its possible. Bid it if you want it.

It'll be interesting. Several wildcards when comparing it to the 9-11 bumps. The 2 big wildcards will be the 737 flying increases and guys being senior and out of seat, fleet relative position.

Another may be the company's position of putting bids out just before bumps. They may have some indicators that it's cheaper but by all logic some guys may see several bumps and displacements as a result, especially if in a seat out of relative seniority position.

Hell based on that staffing color by number chart they put up I expect a round of INVOLS on the 737 in IAH too.
