Regional pilots generally have more flight time and are knowledgeable of a crew environment. Each applicant should be judged on their own merits without prejudice!!!
Those who serve deserve an advantage.

What's the opinion in enlisted military then civilian pilot training, 135 and 121 time?

All,
Here is the deal. It doesn't matter your background. You will be called/hired based on a few metrics....
1. Your resume/experience assigns points to you and how you stack up. Don't read into this as who is the better aviator because I flew hornets or Erjs.
2. Job fairs and meet and greets give more points thus better chance to be called sooner.
3. The points assigned based on your background has been weighted the same regardless of your background (see the trend). This levels the playing field by field for a 10,000 hour regional to be equal to a 3000 hour fight guy and vice versa.

You all are taking this to a level that doesn't exist. Is there favortism and such, I am sure at some level. Do interviewers have bias towards someone of similar background? Maybe. The person who prepares and interviews well will get hired. No real dark magic or guidance to hire one group over the other.

I have no clue how applications are scored. I am sure it's been mentioned on another thread but I have been told update your app regularly, show you have a life outside of an airplane and go to these job fairs, get as many letters of rec as you can. Then if you get selected for an interview, invest in a prep course from someplace like emerald coast consulting. Then just be yourself when the time comes.

There are a lot of us here that fall into that category.

Those who have served and are serving our Country deserve our utmost respect and admiration, but not an advantage over anyone else in an industry that is a safety sensitive industry like ours! Like I said before, just because you are a military pilot, does NOT make you a good pilot for flying passengers and having a crew environment.

I'd argue that most Major Airlines would disagree with you.... Especially Delta. Professional industries outside of aviation call it 'Veterans Prefernce'. It should be no different in the airline world. Obviously if the military member's resume isn't competitive, he should be passed up for the stronger candidate.
