Headset?
#51
After 42 years and several dozen different headsets. I find the Telex 850 NR the most practical, and use it in the Jets and other GA airplanes that I spend 120 hours a month riding around in. There are no batteries to go bad, and you don't feel like your head is in a vice.
YMMV.

Since I live in Colorad Springs, I just went to their office. They did it on the spot for $85 no tax and obviously no shipping. I already had the QC15s with the uflymike. I think it's the QC25s that aren't ready yet.

If both pilots have a headset, the interphone is used. If one doesn't have a headset, then no interphone. In that case I just fly with my right earcup off. Not at all uncomfortable with the DC. Even when both pilots have a headset I tend to fly the approach with one earcup pulled back because I like to hear the engines a bit. That and I know it's time to flare when I hear the FO suck in his/her breath, which is vital because I can't figure out how to land this POS uberguppy.

Yes, but the three position switch is spring loaded to return to the off position. So to use it what you do is wrap a rubber band around the switch, and tie it to the handle bar just aft of the switch so that it holds it in the hot position.
Works great and if you have the right size rubber band you can push the switch back to the off position and it will stay there. This is good for longer periods of time without talking, or eating. You just need a rubber band strong enough to hold it in the "I/C" position but not strong enough where is pulls it out of the off position on its own.

Indeed sorry... I didn't realize you had the previous model. The QC25's are about 6 months out, and they don't have any more QC15's I was told

No worries. She said the new mike for the QC25 was going to be much better: thinner more flexible cord, rotating boom, etc.
