Vacancy 15-10V
#21
So, as a new-hire (737 EWR) trying to get to SFO, how likely is it that they will fill unadvertised vacancies after this bid? There were 16 un-filled 737 SFO in last vacancy bid, and I'm guessing this could create a couple more?
Is there hope for it to happen even if it's not officially in the bid?

Of course, that's just a guess on my part and not supported by any facts other than the current trends.

I would say the probability is VERY high. Just keep your bid in for what you really want, and I'm almost certain you'll be there within a year at the latest and more likely within the next one or two bids.

Griego, just to make sure you're aware of this. Let's say you get awarded a lateral to SFO on this bid. It could take 6 months after the bid before you are actually moved from EWR to SFO so don't think it will happen instantaneously.

If you are awarded a lateral and are waiting to move, an email to Manpower Planning explaining your situation might help IF you are next in seniority to move. I was in this situation where several of us had been awarded a base to base, same equipment, lateral. I was next to go AND I would not have been placed senior to anyone in the gaining base, so no seniority was abrogated at either end. It was simply a matter of someone moving the next piece on the board. I asked and was moved the next month.

We could get #25 as early as 11/1/2015 if they stay ahead of schedule.

Ah trust me those of us that have experienced South Carolina Boeing products have ZERO desire to see them shoot out ahead of schedule...
