Exactly correct....No it is not an approved method of transport and this very issue was brought up by an LEC guy just the other day during a conversation.

Just left DENTK this afternoon. Head of one of the fleets feels like it is going to stay in DEN. Everyone I've spoke to the last 3 days thinks it's going to be DEN, but closer to the airport. Apparently there is already an agreement in place with DEN, and the area owned jointly by Aurora and one other city (which i can't remember). This area is being annexed as an Aviation/Aerospace Business Park to attract us and other entities. It will be a revenue sharing agreement and they will announce this once UAL states the new DENTK is going there. It will be right off new light rail. Just passing on what I heard.

Also, the plans for the new training center have already been completed. They just need to get the place picked. The center will be built by mid 2017 and it will take two years to get everything put fully into place (2019).
The fleet manager said 30-45 days will be the latest info would be out, tho he has heard the rumors of this week. He is leaning towards next week at the earliest. "so, the stock market could go up tomorrow, but it also could go down!"

There is one thing for sure. If it makes sense or makes money United will do the exact opposite.

Didn't know that, are we not allowed on trains/light rails in general or is it on an individual basis that must be approved such as hotels?

It is not specifically prohibited but not "approved" either. I'm sure the company would negotiate it if it comes to pass.

I seem to remember that during one of our infamous ESOP there was something about the Mechanics throwing a lien on the training center to insure they would not get screwed by the esop. Can anyone speak to that? My memory is hazy but I do remember something about the Mechanics putting a lien on TK.

Absent a court ordered judgement in Colorado you can't just put a lien on a property. A "mechanic's lien" does not mean that airplane mechanics can place a lien, but only for the unpaid work performed. Property liens that aren't valid can be easily cleared.

Also, any purchaser who knew the lien was invalid could buy the property subject to the lien.

This sounds like urban legend to me.
