Default DENTK...Is it moving or not?

Any word on if it is staying put or going to ORD/IAH? I thought the announcement was supposed to be this week?

Yup, the announcement was rumored to be imminent.

I'm pretty sure that word will travel insanely fast once an official announcement is made.

In the meantime we wait and speculate.....

I was doing annual check at TK three weeks ago. Word then was Jeff was briefed on the decision May 27, and it would go public Jun 16.

I think the non-vocal opinion shared by most at TK was either a renovated TK, or a new facility halfway to DEN, near the light-rail.

Which indeed, would be tomorrow.

Talked to a Denver businessman who saw that the signage on the new light rail includes a stop for the United Airlines Training Center. That said, posted on another board, BOD may have rejected an all-new DEN center because of sticker shock. Sent back to drawing board. Maybe tomorrow will an announcement of no announcement.

I was told that it would be no problem to train all new instructors and evaluators to accommodate a new location.

Yeah.....Right.......

This is the only one that makes sense to me (which is why it will probably be wrong)
Central location
DEN will pay huge for that land. My guess is they are offering the new TK land for free or cheap and a new building for free or cheap as well. Stop on light rail, which means no transportation and van issues, and would be a problem in both IAH and ORD. close to lots of hotels in a safer part of the neighborhood with plenty of food options.
If UAL gets big discounts on light rail passes or included in the deal it would save a ton on transportation, and the city might even offer to move our sims once the building is done. A short move vs. a very long move also saves big money on down time for the sim. Another huge issue since we are struggling to keep on schedule now.

No matter what the decision is, I imagine it is at least 2-3 years out from a building even being built and sims moved.

Is light right an ALPA approved mode of transportation?
