SEA to SFO commute
#2
I do this commute now. I usually look at our flights, see the 48 cat-ranchers listed that were hired before I was born, sigh, and take Alaska or Virgin. Lot of commuters, but also lots of flights. Oakland with a BART transfer as a backup.

I do PDX. It's BRUTAL. OAK is just as tough with SWA commuters. This year has been worse than ever with a reduction of flights.

See you at the gate. Lots of people spook each-other off of flights and some united flights leave with seats while comuters are waiting for Virgin.
I was thinking of starting a "group me" messenger client group for the large number of us. Something to check on the way to the airport. Something better than sending a blast text to someone whose schedule you don't really know.
thoughts?

3/4 of the guys I fly with in SFO commute from SEA. Honestly. Lots of service but I doubt it's a cake walk. Very senior commute. The FA's who do that commute were all hired in the 60's.

You might consider purchasing a BART Clipper Card. You buy it at certain BART Stations and can "re-load" it with a credit card on their web site. That way you don't have to carry around the cash for BART. I also recommend downloading the BART app - Embark BART. It has schedules and a function where you put where you are, where you want to go and it will list the departure train times necessary to get you there.

for the bart from Oak to SFO is a piece of cake
1) hop on the transfer from OAK to coliseum station. Its free about 5 min ride.
2) buy a card at coliseum station to SFO You can use debit/credit to buy ticket. It is about 10 dollars one way.
3) hop on any train heading toward DALY CITY (Green or Blue Line)
4) Transfer to the "T" line "yellow" at any station once across the bay. Balboa park is the last station to transfer.
5)Give it about an hour for full ride.
If during morning it will be full until Powell station. Then it thins out.
