In United's most wet dream.
Nope sorry you get Oscar Munoz - he comes to you with a wealth of knowledge in......wait for it.....Trains, Telephones, and Soft Drinks!
He has been a board member at Inited for a while though. Basically, they booted out Smisek and nominated one of themselves.

I'm a Unitarian (LUA) and I don't care where he came from....I view it with the hope it is a breath of fresh air.
I think if there is a single way to sum JS: no one trusted him, because you felt he was saying one thing, but really doing something else.
I don't know OM from Adam, but even in one communique, I have a sense that he seems a lot more honest than JS.
And I get the feeling he actually cares about the business a little, and not just the stock price.
Yes, I know he is still the President of CSX railroad (by the quick search I did), and he sits on about five different boards...like all the ultra-rich.
But I'm willing to give him a chance, and at the moment, I'm guardedly optimistic, for Unitarians, and my brother Caledonians.

Wow..Reminds me of that crybaby Sean Menke that came to Pinnacle for a brief moment, cried on a conference call about being underpaid, gave himself a 600k dollar raise and then filed bankruptcy a few days later on April fools day. Then he bailed a month later with his golden chute.

It will be more of the same, I fear. To make me a believer I need to see:
-A F/A and Mechanic contract in 3-6 months.
-HR atmosphere less authoritarian/intimidating (get out of Flt Ops!)
-Give employees the TOOLS to do their job properly.
e.g. CS hands are mostly tied when dealing with customer issues.
IOW, STOP micromanaging the employees. Let them be free to solve issues as they arise instead of making them afraid to make decisions on their own.
This really has been one of the biggest differences between the two legacy mgmt styles. Even though Oscar and Henry are LCAL, I truly hope they are more enlightened than the others.
Hoping for the best nonetheless.
Edit: One huge positive. Mr. Munoz, apparently, is not a lawyer

Welcome to America. Where people get scammed right under their very noses and don't do a thing about it. What's worse is those people responsible for the 'recession' and taking multi million doar bonuses rather than being carted off to prison.
