I don't understand the heartburn over someone not voting. It wasn't a strike vote.

This deal was obviously DONE the day after it was announced. Anyone who spent any time on this or even the UALpilots forum - where the NAY vote was 49% - knew that it was going to be passed by a significant margin.

I've spent countless hours in cockpits with guys who know zero about our contract or how its been abused since the merger. They allow themselves to be bamboozled by the crew desk, the pay desk, etc etc. Membership participation, as it pertains to supporting the contract and your fellow pilots, means a hell of lot more than spending 2 minutes voting online.

We just lifted our skirt. Management now realizes that they blew it, and we probably could have been bought off for less. I suspect they won't forget that.

Congrats to all the yes voters.

9% of the general population is on drugs (according to this site) DrugFacts: Nationwide Trends | National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Maybe this is why they did not vote?

Twice furloughed United pilot that voted yes. Retro pay for LOA 25 is $22,500 and a pay increase of 19.3%.

My point is that a big chunk of the membership is NOT engaged, a big chunk (most) of the time. Expecting otherwise has proven to be a losing proposition. I think this votes turnout highlights that.

Congrats.

Nice to see your issues fixed as well as a good raise for the rest of us.

Members not in good standing can't vote, nor can new hires (which is about 7% alone).

I think the 9% was of eligible voters though. Could be wrong...

I agree. 9% couldn't take 2 minutes out of their busy day to even vote.
