This is probably the dumbest question anybody will ask today but...
What color tie for the interview, or does it not matter at UAL?

I stand prepared for snarky replies....

I don't think it matters, I had a light and dark blue striped one. That worked! Lol. Good luck!

Serious answer: I'm planning on gold with blue stripes (company colors)... Trying to stay away from the Delta uniform (blue suit/red tie). I'm looking forward to comments from others as well. When are you up?

I wore a dark blue suit and light/Royal blue and gray tie with a white shirt. The only comment I got was that everyone gets matching suits. It wasn't a good or bad thing just an observation by the captain. On my interview day I saw quite a mix, even a light gray suit. I don't think it matters like it seems to at DL. I think company colors are always a safe bet but the people in my indoc wore lots of different combinations. I even have a friend that got hired in a dark blue suit and red tie. Good luck.

No one cares as long as you look good. Blue or black suit with a red tie is always a safe bet.

What you feel most comfortable wearing. A nice tie and well fitting shirt is all you need. My first airline interview wore red tie white shirt and it didn't go well. Clearly the tie's fault. Second interview white shirt got a stain on it and had to Change to backup shirt that was blue. Purple and red tie. Got the job. Third interview Clearly needed to stay with the winner and went blue/ purple for the win. And it worked.
Just feel and look good.
Good luck!

UAL doesn't play head games. There's no reading into whether you drink the water provided, eat a granola bar, take notes, what color tie you wear. Look and act like a professional that's excited for the opportunity and you'll be just fine.
