Not a fan of Bebe. She denied my 150% and said they have the right to restore my days off even though they agreed to buy two days at the VJM rate plus pay me for the days. I guess she believes that it is "inferred" in the contract that crew scheduling can do whatever they want to do after you hang up the phone with them.

I won't be doing any more of anything extra for these people. We should mandate "integrity" in the cba. If unable, get our union rep on the phone, monitoring all crew scheduling lines and phone calls for anything that involves add pay, extra pay, etc.

The CP shouldn't even be involved in this stuff. Furthermore, the CP should just automatically rubber stamp "approved" on all pay claims. if they are really pilot advocates it's time to put up or shut up.
What is VJM ? Are you referring to VDO ?
Just trying to look through the contract for your reference.

I assumed you sent a PDR - what did they say?

Trouble is, the company doesn't care about that. I guess the company believes they must have agreed to that "in error." What did we give up to get that language? The language isn't worth the paper it's printed on if we have to fight tooth and nail for it to be honored.

We need to step up ALPA enforcement and get real-time monitoring up in Chicago. I would like ALPA to send up a police force to sit in and monitor the phone calls.
I haven't had a problem yet with VDO pay - as you know - screenshots help.

I won't even head to the airport until the correct code is in my par register (beta). It gets in there pretty quick after they know that.

PDR early and often.

Shrek,

I just did a VDO trip that spanned the two bid periods. It makes it a little bit harder to track everything. The add pay for the day 1 leg did not appear in the pay register beta. It was obvious...being a 13 hour leg. The scheduler said that leg add pay will appear AFTER the leg is flown. I filed a pay claim on day three to have it added in and then all was fine. I told the guy I've always seen ALL the add pay show up when the trip is assigned. He said for tracking the # of VDOs given in a month, they have to put in a different code and that's what causes the first leg to NOT show as the 50% extra. I don't know if he was blowing smoke or not.

The add pay did get split between the June and July bid months. I'm not sure why that can't do the same with the per diem. All the per diem for the trip appears in July pay.

Yeah pilotgolfer- that sounds like a nightmare with the antiquated pay system we are using today - a trip over 2 bid periods just conjures up multiple issues

Also at the switch is a person that was trained by people who don't even know how to use the pay codes for straight pay - lol

I did a VDO over the end of the month a year ago in June. Looks like they lied to me - they said since I was a line holder the next month, I was not entitled to the 50% for the flying after the beginning of the month.

If they were wrong both ways at times - meaning sometimes they paid you too much, and sometimes too little, I might believe it is an antiquated pay system. In my 3 years under this "system", I have only been underpaid. It is therefore not the "system", but a different sort for SYSTEM we are dealing with. It is intentional.

I called union they said company had the right to reinstate your days off even if the agreement up front was that I was selling the days off.

Right...VDO is correct term.

I have a suggestion.....If accepting a VDO assignment, insist that the correct funds be transferred to a Swiss Account and do not head to the airport until the funds are properly accounted for.

Regardless of what a screenshot looks like or not, it doesn't change the fact that schedulers do things to your schedule, and therefore your payscreen after you depart on the trip.

What excuse does the company use now for sticking this stupid pay system upon us???

I use the term VJM and VDO interchangeably. Under the old CAL contract it also paid 150%. Same-same.

Grieve it - you'll get the pay.
