I don't have any Jet PIC time, however have A320 and A330 SIC time & a total of 7 Thousand hours. If I send my app to United, can I expect a call from them or do they prefer guys with mostly PIC time? Any info would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.
There isn't any one type of pilot United is targeting. My class had it all: supplemental guys like me, military, RJ drivers, mid-majors, younger, older, lots of time, not so much time, all PIC, no PIC, white, black, brown, male, female. Apply, get some LORs, and go to a hiring event if you can swing it. 7000TT would put you right in the middle of the pack in my class.

Thank you Robthree. That gives me a ray of hope at least that I can expect a call from United once I submit my application. I'll get a few LOR's and keep them ready as well.

I'm being told to 'expect' 23 August and latest intelligence is that the class invite could go out as early
as late next week. I had to defer a earlier spring class and that invite came almost exactly a month prior. Good luck.

If it was up to me I'd offer preferential interviews to all US pilots at the ME-3. Best way to beat them is to hire away way as many pilots as we can.

Good luck getting out of the sand box!

what would you do if given the option...start right away with Delta..or wait for the November start at United? Assume commuting either way.

Start Delta now and decide 2 weeks prior to United's class date.

Always take the first class......everything could implode tomorrow. When UA calls make the decision. However keep in mind that United maybe the place to be today but this time last year we were the last major anyone wanted. Everything is cyclical.
