Available today...no seriously I told them I was. Doris laughed at me. Apparently they slow the training down in the summer. Much of it has to do with their SIM construction going on.

I know a poolie that was recently told:

"No class dates are currently planned after 2 May. We are anticipating end of summer / early fall for classes again. However, there may be summer classes that get added once we figure out numbers for the rest of the year."

Apparently that's the same answer that was given last year, but then there ended up being one class each in May, June, July, and then two in Aug.

Day 1 guy here passing an update. Received the Hogan 1st week of Feb and interview invite for mid April. Just got the call from United yesterday with a CJO, training starts in Sep. Data below:

Total time: 1800 (doesn't include UAV)
Turbine PIC: 600
121 Time: 120 at time of Hogan invite
UAV Time: 1200 (last 7 years)
Masters degree with 3.5+ GPA
Director of Ops
Available within 2 weeks

I used Cage Consulting. Highly recommend asking for DeeDee, she is phenomenal! They are right across the street from the United training center. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!

Longer waits can happen over summer because of reduced training....

Day 2 afternoon @ Veterans Event with the IAD Chief Pilot - nothing heard from United or Delta. I got hired by a large 747 freight operator, and just updated my available date out past 6 months - hoping to get an "outside 6 months" email or any attention at all.

Lets see: XJT EMB145 FO (2006-2009); PT 91 DHC8 PIC (2009-2017); PT 121 B-747 5000TT/900TPIC ...B-737 Type Rating as well.

7 internal Captain recommendations, and a pure chance General Aviation run-in another Chief Pilot who took my application and resume back home back in July 2017. It didn't help, and he has replied a few times with "keep updating every month"...very nice personality.

Updated today with the 6+ month available date.

Unless you are active military that seems like a really bad idea.

Congrats! Any idea what helped you overcome the 7yrs of UAV time? Did the 121 time do it, or something else?

I was a day two guy at the November SFO Veteran's job fair and I'm still waiting for the Hogan assessment....thus far, crickets.

I'm a stan-eval/check airman and an assistant chief pilot equivalent at a large 135 operation, prior FAR 121 (over 2,000 hours in Dash 8s as F/O & Capt), prior single seat attack, nearing 10,000 hours...I'm wondering if I need to go get some recent 121 stink on me.

Or maybe drop some of the flight time off my resume.

I don't get it.

If anyone has any hints I'm all ears.
