I sent my info in requesting the invite, my application is current and I am actively trying to get hired, however its difficult to make these fair and recruiting events when you are in Afghanistan.

Any advice?
Do what you can...if you get an invite let them know your circumstances.

I have started laying the ground work out here. i'm not sure how long from the time I submit to the time I get the invite, however if there is some time, I might be able to leave here 2 days early. it just cost me $1700 in lost wages. but thats a price I am willing to pay for a shot at the majors.

Do it. Consider it part of the price along with a new suit, hotels, etc. you'll make that back the first week on property.

I jave no issues with the investment trust me there, and add two new suits properly tailored, new shoes, hand polished to a glossy shine, emerald coast, and checked and set to that as well. I feel about as prepared as I can be. all money well spent to get the right job.

Thumbs up... Now just get out of Afgangstastan! Make sure you throw the keys over the wall when you lock the door behind you!

Day 1 is unlimited as far as numbers go, so as long as you are a vet and you apply, I am told you will get an "invite" to day 1.

Day 2 is limited, so invites will be based on the screening they do of your app (not sure of criteria but would guess quals, hours, availability date, etc,), how you stack up against other apps, and the total number of apps received.

Shortly after the deadline to apply, 7th of October, they will complete the review of all apps and send out invites. They will be doing this as quickly as possible to give as much notice as possible to those that are getting the invite to day 2.

I don't have any intel on how many day 2 invites they have space for or how many have applied, so not sure what it is going to take to make that cut, but even if you "only" get an invite to day 1, I would definitely attend!

When I signed up, the confirmation page indicated the invites would go out o/a 14 Oct. That should provide nearly a month of prep time.

The second day isn't an interview but a meeting with the recruiters. Does anyone else interpret it differently?

Lots of prep companies out there is one better than another? What's the difference? EC, FAPA, CIC, Cage what else is there? Who's had success? Who has not?
Is it airline specific? Target United use..? Use one to get an interview and another to get by the interview?
What is the best career prep company for the United application? Testing?
Interview?
