Believe it. Friend of mine with 20k plus hours, LCA, all Boeing types... UAL nor any other major will call him. Former World capt when they went bust.

Are you a UAL pilot with no degree?

Look at the UAL mins to apply, then look at whose getting hired. Feel like rolling the dice for a few years?

I know there are no flows to United but I can apply from a regional.

Which regional is the best to get to United?
Is ATP Flight Academy a good school to go to so I can start at that regional to get to United? If not which school?
What's the application/interview process like to United?

Thank you for helping me.
My advice for what it is worth. Get off the forums and quit worrying about step number 10 in your possible career. Learn to fly first. You have a ton of work ahead of you before you can think of flying for a major.

UAL requires a college degree?
In the last two years UAL has hired 1800 pilots. 5 have not had a degree. Do the math, get a degree.

Math gets a lot easier with a degree

(Cape Air has flow through to Jet Blue...not a major, but you may want them...)
What's this program with the Lufthansa flight school in AZ? That almost seems way too good to be true.

Yep...

I guess he didn't learn about no cell phone usage during simulator training sessions in high school. One of those "givens" for most people.

Just to be perfectly clear;

UAL does not have a flow through agreement with ANYBODY. Including the flight school mentioned above or ANY regional airline. What they are developing is a preferential interview program. WAY different than a flow through agreement.

Not that guy, there was another guy that didn't understand being on probation and reserve so well......

Which again is ironic, considering the positions he held at his previous employer.

As it was put by a friend of mine, it's NOT even a preferential interview program like DAL's SSP.

It's only a preferential initiate the selection process program. Just like an OTS candidate, the HPI is screening out a lot of good people. So they don't even make it to the interview.
