Strange how no GUM vacancies were listed, then one in a snapshot with a 6500ish seniority number... then a 11500 and 12000 listed in the final???

I counted 4 GUM FOs transferring out on this award. People leaving bases can create unforeseen vacancies.

Bingo. And the "unannounced" vacancies won't necessarily appear on snapshots.

Golden rule of equipment bids: always bid what you want as you just might get it....just as long as it's really what you want.

Over the years folks have won the lottery with unexpected awards while others have been horrified to learn that the "bid they never expected to get awarded" got awarded.

Are they outright cancelled, or are they expiring due to training capacity, and then taking bumps?

Crew resources update didn't specify. Just that after review of the latest displacement and vacancy they have talked to alpa about the need to do something to approximately a dozen of the junior active pilots. I guess we will find out soon enough if that means cancellation ,displacement or both.
