Maybe this should be a separate thread....But,

Are you by chance inferring that some pilots were meant to retire at age 60 within the current plan, and some retire at age 65 after the law changed? or, do you mean some retire at the FAA mandated age (whatever it happens to be) and some retire at a fixed pre or post tax dollar amount?

I am sure no matter what it is, this only affects former CAL pilots?

Was this be design or by accident?

Not very many programs the company administers unilaterally. Rather than the ability to request, I would hope that our union has the power to direct, or something a bit more forceful, maybe have some more teeth in this department. We have more control it seems with ASAP and HIMS then we do with retirement....

The language was written long before a merger was considered, without the merger happening there would be no overage.

Yes. It's called the UAL ALPA Retirement & Insurance Committee which also has L-CAL pilots as members. Oversight is exactly one of the things they exist for in regards to our benefits.

I may have missed it, but has anyone seen at info yet about if the MEC and management have decided what day the Delta snap up starts?

I have not seen any update in any ALPA e-mails.

I need to know how long to delay my CQDL & PC so I can get the higher pay rate....

The new rates will be loaded for the February bid period. There is a chance that ALPA can persuade a mediator that the date should have been earlier than Feb 1...in that case, there might be some pro-rated back pay. I wouldn't make bid decisions based on the snap up rate...it's not that big of a difference in the overall scheme of things.

Now that's funny. Dave is a typical cheap pilot that will definitely delay his training for the higher pay. You know how many pilots sleep in ops instead of getting good rest at a hotel, that are Widebody CAPs!!! It's unreal and pathetic and you wonder why this question was even proposed.
