I totally agree!!! It would be a NO vote for me, but a pension would be their tool to buy more senior pilots’ votes. 50+1

They should probably fully fund the last pension first. They stole that and it’s only right to fix it. I’m not going to give anything up for them to do what’s right.

Scope is a choice. You only have to give up Scope once.

Never again, never. It can be taken away in BK in lightning speed. More dollars into retirement accounts that we own, or just better QOL and pay, but not a pension.

AbsoFREAKINGloutky NOT! Never, ever allow this band of shiftas to control your retirement.. They’ve already proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they’ll be more than happy to take it away and leave you destitute in your old age. Anybody who even remotely considers this needs to be in a padded room and a straight jacket.

Oh contraire monsieur’! I am 50 - 3 months. I was here when they took the pension the first time, I watched retired guys who could no longer work get forced out of their homes. There is no WAY I’d ever strike at that bait and I seriously doubt any person with an IQ over 40 would either.

I'd heard the same rumor (pension... not scope) from a friend. While I can't vouch for his source, I can vouch for him as not being the type to knowingly spread BS, for whatever that's worth. Said the pension would be not be controlled by the company. Seems too complicated to be true, but I can confirm it as a rumor, which is obviously worth nothing.

I flew with an rEAL pilot who being forced out at 60 said a Wal-Mart job was looking pretty good at the moment. After Eastern, the loss of his ESOP and an A plan combined with the stove pipe calculations, he essentially had little if any retirement.

Take the cash value of those pension contributions, put it in my PRAP.

My neighbor growing up went from makeing 12k/month on his DAL pension after 30+ years of service, to $1600/month and he’d been retired 10 years at that point. No way on Gods green earth do I want my financial security tied to a previous employer once I’ve stepped off the property for the last time. As was pointed out, they can and will steal it from you.
