It's been a very good year at United with a strong operational performance, a variety of exciting product and route launches, and many improvements to both the customer and employee experience. We don't have hiring numbers yet for the second half of 2017 but as our retirements continue to increase each year, we will likely have a busy fall as well.

As always, plans are subject to change and we will update this site with any significant modifications.

I'm considering an Associates in Aviation Maintainence.

4 year degree is almost a must

5 pilots without a 4 year degree got hired since hiring begun

2018 total n ew hires , 4 did not have a degree... your chances are slim to none unfortunately so get a Bachelors

If cost is the issue there are ways to reduce the overall bill while ending up with the same piece of paper from a big name college. There are cheap associates degrees that can be transferred into almost any 4 yr program. There are also CLEP tests and DSST exams to get college credit for $80 per test. The 4 year degree will carry a lot more weight when it comes time for the job search.

So an Associates in Aviation Maintainence and going to ATP academy isn't a good thing?
