It's a fluid industry and change is constant. Plans are cast in oatmeal. The only things that don't change are stupidity and avarice.

Bill Kennedy said ~650 pilots to be hired in 2017. He made that statement on 8 November.
I don't know what APC Quicktakes is, but I'd go with Bill's number.

Ok. Just making sure there wasn't some dire economic report coming out that was changing the big wigs forecasts, or something.

Thanks! :D

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a Delta guy and we've got a bid closing tomorrow. I don't want to make a mistake and be stuck on the bottom of a list for years if there is information out there to warn me now.

I always seem to figure stuff out, AFTER the fact. :D

Mixture of -737's and -320's and based in SFO and EWR initially.

So, what exactly does that imply? Those retirement numbers haven't changed from the last few hiring "projections", yet the hiring projections still decrease. And the total end number "rumors" of 17000 to 18500 by 2020 are still out there.

I'd like to see the company come out with a better explanation of why the hiring has deceased (TK issues?) and how we're going to end with 5000-6000 more pilot's (buy a another airline).
