Default PBS dispute Q

Let me be upfront as I probably already know the answer. Just want confirmation.
If you are below the g-line and have carry in time from previous month. Does seniority matter at all to building lines?

For example
Pilot A has 18 hours carry in and waives everything. Gets reserve line for Jan.

Pilot B is junior to pilot A. Has 18:01 carry in waives everything and gets a line.

Is there any validity to a pbs dispute?

My basic understanding is below the G-line all bets are off.

Happy holidays.

It's been my experience that being below the g-line means all your seniority are belong to us and you're screwed.

It has a lot to do with absences and such. Like carry in or vacation but Pbs will try to populate reserve periods with guys who are available so you may have been more available than the other guy. Good luck to you but with our pbs it's kind of Wild West when you're below the g-Line.

I would at least run it by your Lec guys.

Merry Christmas.

😂

With a lineholder PBS is trying to make just 3 or 4 (mostly) 4-day+ blocks to fit. With a reserve it has 18 1-day blocks to mess around with. Lots more possibilities.

So..the DRC (not Congo or China) told me what I expected.
I had thought that having some credit time carry in, I "a humble reserve" might be granted a line. While there were trips that would have granted me a line, it would have meant that those junior to me would not have been been able to have a line therefore creating additional open time.
Master PBS shall create solutions higher than my "reserve" brain could ever think about. So if PBS could make 3 lines available to junior pilots instead of 1 for me, and eliminate open time, it will always go that route.

Basically..No Soup for you!

Oh well...

Present PBS system is a solution based system. It doesn't not have to honor seniority. If it can put a trip that is desired by a senior pilot, onto a junior pilot's line an it helps the entire BES, it goes for the overall solution.

My bad.

Point is, PBS system needs to be changed to honor seniority.

Seniority is just ONE FACTOR in the overall solution.
