I know a pilot who was hired recently who said he was the first person hired without a degree in the last ten years. In his previous job, he was a 777 check airman with an ACMI carrier, so extremely qualified.

Wasn't this person hired as an ACP?

I'm planning on attending the job fair in Oct. What to bring? Logbooks, Resumes (how many copies?) I'm only going to see UPS. I'm not interested in any airline. Should I bring multiple for multiple recruiters from UPS or just one? Cover letter? Recommendations? Copy of documents? Copy of Logbooks?

Is there any prep as far as interview style prep to be done prior to a job fair? Never been to one? Or pretty relaxed conversational environment?

Should I read my UPS books and know a lot about the company to talk to them about?

Any guidance is appreciated.

From what I experienced at OBAP, definitely read your UPS books and know the company. One of the first questions was, "What do you know about UPS?"

I would have a few resumes specific to UPS. I didn't see anyone with cover letters. No log books or other documents were asked for or needed.

It was more of a conversation with a few interview type questions. You might want to have some questions for them. I was asked about questions I had a few times and just didn't have many.

Good luck and maybe I'll see you there.

On prep services: I called ECIC prior to OBAP and was advised attend a webinar prior to the fair, I was unable to do that. She did give me some general advice though. I am a ECIC client and I will be doing a webinar prior to FAPA.

Can you PM me a link for that or post it in here for all attending?

UPS books was TD's term. I would recommend Big Brown. I bought the kindle version from Amazon.

From the UPS post on FAPA, "Also hiring into Flight Qualified Supervisor (Captain) positions.". I'm trying to find a way to turn down an offer to appy for this without hurting my chance at a line pilot (IPA) job. I would welcome any advice on this.
