Default ONT

I live in LA. How senior is ONT? How long do you figure it would take a 2018 new hire who is 40 years old to hold ONT?

No real way to know but if you get a 757 bid someplace, a year or so should get you to ONT. It could be sooner if the rumored transition to smaller but more frequent bids comes to fruition.

The company has assigned 22 new hires to ONT this year. So it could be day 1, when the next vacancy comes around, when your seat lock expires...🤷*♂️

I'm guessing there is nothing to expand on as it is just someone blowing smoke.......the next guy will try to tell you that huge bids are the new way of doing business....Reality? We will all know when it comes out, plain and simple. No one KNOWS shat until that happens.

You're right. A van driver told an ANC acp so take it for what it is worth. We used to do small and often, nice for changing domiciles with the season, but that was many moons ago. Lately we've been doing once a year mega bids. It might go back to the other way as they seem to have problems predicting their training burdens

Default UPS First Year Pay

Looking through the pay charts on APC, it appears UPS has one of the lowest first year FO pay rate of any major/cargo/LCC ($45/hr). First year at the regionals is $35-$40/hr. Any reason for this? Any UPS guys have info on life as a first-year guy? Thanks!

I was not alone in being HUGELY disappointed our 2016 contract did not raise first year pay higher than the 14.65% everybody got at DOS...but have been told the company simply would not budge on probationary pay because "we don't have to".

First year pay blows, and it has cost us a lot of good pilots who simply can't take the one-year hit...but if you can get past that you'll be just fine.
