Huge thanks to all for the replies! As a fighter guy and current Instructor, I’ve been lucky to achieve every qual one can get outside of a Weapons School patch, in hopes of making my future resume as appealing as possible. The unfortunate reality is that hours tend to be at a premium for us, and ground jobs and collateral duties tend to occupy most free time that might otherwise be spent flying recreationally to help boost hours. It certainly seems as though the hiring process everywhere is more or less a crap shoot, so I intend to submit an application everywhere and see what happens, perhaps finding myself flying with you guys one day. Thanks for taking the time to enlighten me!

Put your app in. Highlight that you are an IP. They also like DSS/Stan Eval. Your leadership stuff is another big player. Go fly for another major or Atlas until you get a call here. This place can be a complete enigma with hiring sometimes. There is a little cargo airline called FedEx that you should turn in an app to as well. One of the new guys in my Airbus class was a RAG IP in your exact situation. Get out of AD and start living. Best of luck.

Just remember you will get to share the flight deck with enlisted guys who peeled potatoes in the army... like me.
Brown loves Veterans, and just not the ones who had aviator wings.

And many others, like me, who's only exposure to the military stopped at the cub scouts in second grade. We are a very diverse group and that should not be forgotten.

to be competitive as a civilian pilot you will need 5000+ hours and 2000+ PIC, plus check airman or similar.
to be frank, your NAV time is a good conversation piece but not much else. (takes one to know one!)
go to a regional ASAP and get your 1000 PIC.
good luck!
