Irrelevant. The total number of crossovers, ever, is in the single digits. That should ring loud in your ears as far as whether or not UPS Pilots aspire to become, “flight qualified,” management lackeys.
Pay, benefits, work rules for MGT folk are all far, far substandard compared to line (union) pilots. They no longer get a pension either. Non union position, nothing is guaranteed, job is always in jeopardy.
It’s a union busting position - taking work away from union pilots. We are negotiating these positions away, albeit not as quickly as we want. Relatively high turnover rate.
We are polite and treat them with professionalism but tend to smirk at them in private - hearing them call themselves “Captain,” is always a good laugh. Don’t expect any respect. Yeah, a few of them who have been around awhile are decent and a couple of the CP types are sincerely trying to do well by the pilots, but they are the exception to the rule and probably intentionally so. It’s really a back stabbing, good old boys club, centered on making a name for yourself to get promoted to the higher level positions. Even the VP of flight ops is, in all fairness, just an ATL (corporate HQ) lackey. Can not recommend this position at all. I would go back to me regional, or LCC before taking one of these positions. And notice you never have even 1 mgmt guy on here trying to argue a positive case for the job.

Is it realistic to believe we can successfully negotiate the elimination of those positions in the next CBA? Or at least severely restrict their ability to fly our planes?
How much negotiating capital will this require?
Ultimately, any business can run their operation as they they see fit, up to us how much capital we are willing to expend to restrict FQS flying.
