turbo prop or turbine powered prop

From the app:

List all fixed-wing jet aircraft and all fixed-wing multi-engine turboprop aircraft flown up to a maximum of twelve aircraft.

The T-6 is a single engine turbo prop so it does not qualify. So I was wondering if UPS considers it as “jet” time like FedEx does.

My understanding of the application wording is the answer is no. I would say they call it turboprop time.

The FAA themselves does not consider it a "jet" not sure how UPS could.

Not sure FedEx does either:

https://careers.fedex.com/pilot-minimum-qualifications

Flight Hours
  • 1500 hours total fixed-wing
  • 1000 hours PIC in jet aircraft is preferred; multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, 12,500 pounds or greater; certain single engine turbo-prop aircraft, or combination thereof. A minimum of 500 hours PIC as described is required.

Put it in the jet category. There is a comment or note section shortly thereafter where you can explain what you did. There were 3 or 4 guys in my new hire class with significant or almost exclusively T6 time. UPS treats it the same as they would treat tweet time.

Default No US birthrights / Green Card?

I get that the UPS website lists "Have authorization to work in the United States" as a requirement, however can people at international domiciles shine a light on this? On a trip last year I had a chat in cruise with one of our Captains who told about his brother working for UPS in CGN domicile, actually commuting from the same city I live in and he insisted he does not have a Green Card or US citizenship.

We don’t have any foreign domiciles at UPS. CGN is our European hub. There are a few people on permanent residency status (green card) that I’ve heard of but this becomes a major pain-in-the-back-side when flying internationally; arriving back in the US they usually have to go to the passenger terminal to clear immigration vs the in-house ones we have. We do have lots of guys living all over the world, some with multinationalities but no one that isn’t a PR or US citizen.

Um, if by PR you mean Puerto Rican, Puerto Ricans ARE as native-born U.S. citizens as someone born in Kentucky, Texas or Maine.
