HR Computer program is apparently lottery algorithm. Some just get lucky in the lottery algorithm. Two identical applicants. Clones. One called, one never called.
Byzantine and no one without SCI clearance in the locked and closed doors of HR knows.
Took me 3 years a million years ago to get a call without the current process. Even then a lottery. Human intervention of some kind... You or internal. The job fairs give many that opportunity. Then had to meet the right management person it seems.
Best of fortune!

Totally agree. NEVER had my app in, no job fairs, knew no one in mgmt, put in my app mid January the year I was hired, got a call from Larry Parker 3 weeks later, interview roughly 2 months later, in class 3 weeks after that. From first call to class about 3 months. Crazy!! No idea how they pulled, scored my app and interview. With all this going on, very fortunate to be here, not a perfect job by any means, but damn good job security. Keep at it, worth it!!!

As others have said, no one really knows how the final decision is made to get the call for an interview, all I can say is keep grinding and have your internal recs talk to anyone they can about you, keep sending them updated resumes incase they can pass them on for you. I attended a conference, not sure if it helped. Best of luck!

I had four internals and one job fair. One of my internals knocked on door and hand carried my resume. He said they would not take resume but after he stopped by my app locked and the process began.
I was just offered CJO last Wednesday and I asked my HR rep, who is helping with the paperwork, about peaked interest at UPS. She told me UPS had over 6k new applicants last week. I feel very thankful getting in early (but this is where I always wanted to be).
I have to imagine it just got tougher to get looked at with new found interest and major airlines looking at uncertainty. Recommend you have a persistent bold internal willing to take plunge at the HR door. I’m sure that is why I have an offer, though I do not know for sure. Could backfire also. Very thankful for future class.
