They flushed the pool but never stopped interviewing or hiring that I know of. I have no idea why, it doesn't make sense. Some of us had been in the pool for quite a while, constantly updating and reapplying every Jan. They didn't tell me that I had been flushed, no call, no emails. I had to find out through some back door inquiries that an acquaintance made on my behalf. This shouldn't be secret information, but that was the first I'd heard about it. Maybe if anyone goes to a job fair they can directly ask the recruiters WTH. I heard on the Facebook RST Ups site there was additionally "chatter" about this. One of my coworkers who'd been in the pool for about 6 months also was told there's no more pool and they flushed it (again without telling us). I heard that the new process, if you don't get a reject letter, you're probably still in the running but you won't know until they call you for a class date (seems like a new pool to me but they're not calling it that). Anyway, that's all I know other than old poolies should reapply when the window opens, but have to start the whole process again.

One can literally search back 10, 15 years on this forum and see that
1. UPS hiring process has not changed at all. No improvements or efficiencies sought
2. No, or minimal, ability for a line pilot to help a buddy or "check on" his app
3. etc
One of the female recruiters at WAI spoke to a group of us in 2020 who was nice but she really had zero insight into the process either. "random process" / "the computer ranks it" / "apps go into a matrix to be scored" / etc
High pay, no doubt, "not going to disappear", good dudes who work there, etc company but in today's hiring environment UPS HR could improve their process
my opinion nothing else

Another data-point: My app went locked a couple months ago. Got the pre-interview roughly a 3 weeks ago, and interviewed via Zoom today. It felt like the interview went well. The only hard timeline they gave was we would receive feedback within 90 days of the interview. Aside from that, they painted a picture that made the pool sound alive and competitive, but nothing concrete. They did point out that training is not shutting down during peak season because they are trying to fill seats, for whatever that's worth. I'm hopeful for a callback soon, but I also realize it could be couple months. I'll post again when I get feedback to complete this data-point.
