Is anyone aware of any unwritten recency requirement for UPS? (similar to Purple’s not-so-secret 100 hours in past year)

Thanks

I believe 200 hours in the past 24 months is required

edit: might be only 100 hours. That was as of fall 2017.

I was hired this year and flew 200 hours in the last 5 years. They never brought recency up.

I’d prefer UPS due to domicile, at a legacy currently (1 year), military EP, have 1460TPIC, have an internal rec, and can’t get past the automatic filter. Probably stay at my legacy if I don’t get past the filter (and a call) soon.

Edit: Thought I’d add my info so people don’t think 1000TPIC is the magic number to get called

When did your internal do the rec? There was an article Friday in the weekly CP message about hiring and recommendations.

Talk to them about it again. They should be able to do more now than previously.

Ok so I'm in a weird spot. I was a captain on the CRJ for a bit then left for Kalitta. Flew the 767 for 2 years as an FO. I jumped and took this part 91 job earlier this year, because I thought it would be awesome the way it was advertised. We basically started the flight department for the company. Anyways, long story short, the job has become everything except what was advertised. So, I either may go back to Kalitta or have thought about ways to pursue my dream job (UPS). I have over 1,000 hours of 121 time obviously (4,000TT), but only a few hundred of TPIC. So I need to check that box. Should I find another corporate job to do it or go with a direct entry captain spot at a regional for a year or so?

I know quite a bit of some fellow previous K4 pilots that went over to the brown side and are loving it. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

If you truly want to come to brown, then get your TPIC.

Does it matter at this point whether it is 121 or not? Thanks for the reply

UPS hires from all walks of life. The hard part is deciding which one will give you the time quickest and where you would be happy if you got stuck.

Plenty of 2014+ hires came from bizav...but getting 600 more TPIC hours is prob gonna take a while unless its a high-tempo operation.
