Default PRIA request

Anyone know what happens if UPS doesn’t get a response for a PRIA request from another company within the 30 day window? Hoping I can start class on time…

Have you reached out to the past company to verify they have received the request?

Wont be a big deal. Some guys in my class had not cleared PRiAs and were able to start.
I’d reach out to your old company.

Problem is it’s not my old company…I’m military and apparently you have to get PRIA for any company you drug tested with (according to HR). Said other company is my only backup I have another CJO with (class date after UPS), which is why I’m hesitant to reach out to them.

I kinda don’t want to shoot myself in the foot with them until I have my FJO at UPS first.

PRIA is only for when you were actually employed with a carrier. Therefore, said carried, should have not been listed as a previous employer. You did a pre-drug test exam for onboarding purposes. Even though it is required for the DOT, it’s not a part of PRIA until you are actually working for said carrier.
It is odd that UPS is making you do that. For there is no PRIA for said company. I would try to see if you could escalate it, however, being UPS I could understand your hesitation.

Here’s a link to a PRIA form.

https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/form/faa8060-12.pdf

Hopefully you can find it useful.

Military doesn't do PRIA. I did have to get a drug test verification from the military. I just had my supervisor sign it. The fact that you retired/seperated honorably proves you never tested positive. They know that.

Thanks, yeah that was the form they had me fill out for the other company. I, too, thought it was odd they wanted me to submit a form for that company, even though I only drug tested for them post-CJO but haven’t actually started indoc with that company. In fact, my UPS indoc will occur before the other company anyways.

Can you start class if your PRIA hasn’t come back yet? I know at AA for instance you can.

Yes, when conveying the offer over the phone HR typically says something along the lines of “don’t let the lack of a formal offer keep you from showing up to class. If we need to pull you out after class starts, we will”.

If they give you a class date and later decide they don’t want you to show up they should tell you.
