it takes 15+ years to hold that seat at delta. In that time you couldn’t have upgraded at UPS? I find that hard to believe..

No doubt. Making more money but basically having no life and being junior for a gazillion years doesn’t sound very appealing.

Same as being a junior United 737 Captain in SFO or EWR for a gazillion years doesn’t sound enticing.

Being junior by choice certainly is. You only have to be junior once. After that it is on you. (Usual disclaimer subject to furlough, other extenuating circumstances. Changing jobs to start over cause you are not happy is not an extenuating circumstance).
