I'm guessing getting left seat is probably unrealistic at that age?

Thanks
ICAO is gonna change to 67 or 69 eventually or they actually want to go higher . Airlines will follow . You have more time than you might think .

Might be true, might not. Either way there's no way in hell I want to be flying nights getting my circadian rhythm jacked up or having multiple 24hr layovers on the international side at 67. There's a reason most folks here punch out before 65.

Some truth here to take notice of: how your seniority looks at 62-65yrs old. One thing if you’re in the top 5% of bidders….it could literally be a part time job @ full pay flying the best of the best pairings, which are still really good here. Part time due to vacations, conflict bidding, sick use, etc. Quite another to be at mid pack seniority. This all depends on when you were hired and the resulting dynamics.

Also note: Z international flying keeps you on a US body clock for the most part, exceptions noted. 24hr l/o’s is more of a whale thing.

Lots more day flying with postal contract.

PM turns aren’t as senior as they have been.

B reserve keeps you away from night stuff to a fair extent over time.

Sim IP, other desk jobs avail to keep you off graveyard hours.

Probably a bit out of tune with reality with this comment.

All I said in this thread is that, IMO, dropping down to near 0 every pay period probably isn’t a good look, probably not the safest strategy, and that if a noob finds themselves in hot water, it certainly won’t help their cause. You guys suggest it’s no prob for noobs to wear the northface jacket around the system? Jumpseat into trips? Show up right on time, vs a few mins early? News flash: UPS either won’t notice or won’t care. Until they do. Then the noob got problems. Problems they didn’t need to have. Pretty sure we all agree yr 1 should be played on the conservative side….where we draw the line on individual items is personal choice based on perceived risk.
Why are you grouping those other obviously risky behaviors with dropping trips on the trip board?

Reread the post.

We can keep doing this, ‘I’m right, you’re wrong,’ dance until the cows come home. Pretty sure noobs have enough info from this thread to make their own decision how to play year 1.
