Hi
Currently flying Gulfstreams overseas but looking at returning to US in year or so, obviously a lot can change but curious about cargo options when we come back. Is 56 a bit old to have a reasonable career at UPS? I'd probably start off having to commute internationally to Europe but then moving back to PHX and preferring domestic flying. I'm guessing getting left seat is probably unrealistic at that age?
Thanks

Might be true, might not. Either way there's no way in hell I want to be flying nights getting my circadian rhythm jacked up or having multiple 24hr layovers on the international side at 67. There's a reason most folks here punch out before 65.

Also note: Z international flying keeps you on a US body clock for the most part, exceptions noted. 24hr l/o’s is more of a whale thing.
Lots more day flying with postal contract.
PM turns aren’t as senior as they have been.
B reserve keeps you away from night stuff to a fair extent over time.
Sim IP, other desk jobs avail to keep you off graveyard hours.

A little ironic. If you look back on these threads and the B&G, especially 7-10 yrs ago, you might find someone(s) you know who constantly challenged the ingrained doomsday narrative of posters at the time.
All I said in this thread is that, IMO, dropping down to near 0 every pay period probably isn’t a good look, probably not the safest strategy, and that if a noob finds themselves in hot water, it certainly won’t help their cause. You guys suggest it’s no prob for noobs to wear the northface jacket around the system? Jumpseat into trips? Show up right on time, vs a few mins early? News flash: UPS either won’t notice or won’t care. Until they do. Then the noob got problems. Problems they didn’t need to have. Pretty sure we all agree yr 1 should be played on the conservative side….where we draw the line on individual items is personal choice based on perceived risk.

We can keep doing this, ‘I’m right, you’re wrong,’ dance until the cows come home. Pretty sure noobs have enough info from this thread to make their own decision how to play year 1.
